(Found my original post…and even though I already posted the other one, I’m posting this one too, so there!)
Okay, so I’m going in blind. I’ve never blogged or followed a blog, but last week I started Shaun T’s Insanity and I think the best way to keep myself on track is to write about it. Accountability and all that jazz…
Week one was a BEAST! I did better than I expected on the fitness test, but I have to point out that my schedule was a little different than what is prescribed by the program:
Friday – I just did my typical ab work today and got on the treadmill at an incline of 10 for 40 minutes. I also ordered my second round of HCG today. (I lost about 24 pounds last October on it, and did a great job keeping it off until I hit a rough patch in life earlier this year. Gained 10 lbs back and I’m determined to put a stop to it.) My ultimate goal is to loose 24 lbs. I’m ashamed to tell you where I am now, but I’m working on it.
Saturday – I’m a ROCKSTAR! I tried out the Pure Cardio today. Not too bad. I think I did okay. This ain’t your grandma’s aerobics though. I think I left a gallon of sweat on my living room floor.
Sunday – I tried the Cardio Abs alone. Pretty fast (15 minute) workout, but I realize now that during week two it will be done in conjunction with Pure Cardio…not so fun.
Monday – Fit Test (I sucked pretty hard)
Tuesday – Plyometric Cardio Circut (Mikki, my 13 year old daughter, did the work out with me and I must say I felt pretty good about myself. She couldn’t keep up with me…I’m of course ignoring the fact that she’d just finished her second day of intense gymnastics practice.)
Wednesday – Oh the pain!!! While still aching from Tuesday’s workout I pressed through Cardio Power & Resistance
Thursday – I’m not sure why they call this day Cardio Recovery. I don’t feel recovered.
Friday – Pure Cardio. Not much strength training here, but I’m feeling the pain because this is SERIOUS cardio!
Saturday – Plyometric Cardio Circuit again. I’m dying here. I’m on vacation, and it’s a good thing because I’m finding myself able to sleep in for the first time in YEARS!
Sunday – Finally. An off day. Actually, I felt like a slob sitting around all day on a rainy Sunday, so I ended up doing some free-weights. I hope it doesn’t negatively effect my results.
So, my HCG is being delivered today. I ordered three rounds so I’m giving one to my girl friend (this in exchange for the use of her Insanity Set). I struggled with whether to do the HCG round first then Insanity or vice versa. There’s a downside to each one. I can’t do them at the same time because HCG doesn’t allow for any over-exertion. I think I’m going to do 30 days of Insanity (for definition) then start my HCG for the 28 days and then pick up Insanity again. Unless my results with Insanity are SO freaking amazing that I can’t see myself not pushing through. We shall see! Week 1 down.
Tomorrow I’ll upload my before shots as well as some week one fitness session photos and my diet plan (or lack thereof).
